A Pediatrician Who Treats Children Like Her Own, Right Here in Orange, CA
At Allevato Pediatrics, located in the heart of Orange, California, good pediatric care means taking the time to truly know your child, building a lasting relationship with your family, and being a practice you can lean on. That’s what we’ve spent decades working toward, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dr. Allevato’s Story
Some people find their calling. Dr. Angela Allevato had a revelation.
She was on track to become a teacher, having long felt that helping children grow was her purpose. She studied child development at Cal State Fullerton and was nearing the end of her undergraduate years when she attended a career seminar that changed everything.
The moment she heard that becoming a pediatrician was an option, something clicked. She couldn’t sleep that night. She went back and finished with degrees in both child development and biology, then worked in medicine as a medical assistant before earning her medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, one of the world’s most prestigious medical schools.
She began practicing in 1993 and opened her private practice in 2005, and she’s never looked back.
The pivot from education to pediatrics wasn’t really a career change. It was a calling that found its truest form. Today, Dr. Allevato often finds herself mentioning her own kids in conversations with parents, because that’s who she is: a physician who tries not to recommend anything for your child that she wouldn’t do for her own. Children who come through her doors are treated with that same standard of care in mind.
A Practice Built on Personal Relationships
Solo pediatric practices are a rare thing these days, and Dr. Allevato is proud to be one of Orange County’s last. At Allevato Pediatrics, it’s Dr. Allevato and two experienced pediatric nurse practitioners, Lauren Meininger and Elizabeth McCombs, who share her values. This small, intentional team is built to give your family a personal experience.
We often recognize parents by the sound of their voice on the phone. When you call and ask to speak with a medical professional, it’s usually Dr. Allevato herself who calls you back. If not, it is one of her two excellent Nurse Practitioners.
The relationships can run deep, too. Some parents Dr. Allevato cared for as children are now bringing their own kids to her, a reflection of the impression she left on their families.
Two of her staff members have stayed with the practice for over 20 years, in part because coming through these doors each morning is something they look forward to. That warmth is something many families who visit us come to feel.
The Blue Book
Every new parent at our Orange, CA, practice receives a printed manual that Dr. Allevato affectionately calls “The Cliff’s Notes for Babies.” Dr. Allevato’s blue book is a practical, reassuring guide she’s put together for parents, covering what to watch for, when to worry, and when to take a breath. It’s her way of staying connected to your family even when you’re not in the office, offering a steadier footing as you navigate early parenthood.
Comprehensive Care for Every Stage of Childhood
At Allevato Pediatrics, we care for infants, children, and adolescents from birth through young adulthood, and we believe pediatric care goes well beyond treating illness.
Nutrition, development, parenting questions, school concerns, adolescent transitions, and chronic condition management are all part of what we do. We also place a strong emphasis on preventive care and education, with well-child visits that assess growth and development and offer age-appropriate guidance, along with vaccines following American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines.
As part of Rady Children’s Health, we’re able to offer our Orange, California, families enhanced access to specialists and expert resources, helping connect your child with the fuller spectrum of pediatric support they may need.
